2025 FALL SEWING CLASSES

SEW SIMPLE Beginning Sewing I

           Gentle instruction & Inspiration that helps you take flight with fabric!

Dates & Times:    

September 2, 9, 23, 30 Tuesdays 6-8pm

October 6, 13, 20, 27 Mondays 6-8pm

November 4, 11, 18, December 2nd Tuesdays 6-8pm

What it is:  I know you are just beginning so we'll start off slow & move at your pace! It's a gentle approach to learning the basics from machine threading, how to use basic sewing equipment, and how to do simple projects with your machine. (This is an adult class. All teens are asked to register for our Teen classes.) We will make small functional projects every week that help develop  the beginner’s  skills. Learn Machine Stitching, Hems, Seams, How to measure and cut fabric, All Materials Provided.

Cost: $160.00  (4 weeks 2 hours per week)

  SEW BASIC  Beginning Sewing II

Group Project Based class focused on mastering your sewing machine and its special features and feet. Please take Sew Simple before Sew Basic if you have no previous sewing machine knowledge.  

Dates & Times:   

September 8, 15, 22, 29 Mondays 6-8pm

October 7, 14, 21, 28 Tuesdays 6-8pm

What it is:  You will make small functional project every week that incorporate basic skills that focus on function and closures. Learn Bindings, Linings, Blind Hems, Buttonholes & Zippers. Most Materials Provided. If you already know how to thread and operate your machine, but don’t know how to start and finish  a project with success  this is your class.

Cost: $160.00  (4 weeks 2 hours per week)

Week two  bring a  long sleeve dress shirt. Class Materials list provided on product page and in class email.

SEW SKILLED

You've got basic sewing skills and are ready to embark onto more complex projects!  The perfect follow up class to Sew Basic. You can run your first pattern or  your 10th.  Or work on Skills that need fine tuning for your specific project.

Dates & Times:  Thursdays 6:30-8:30pm

September 11, 18, 25, October 2nd

October 9, 16, 23, 30

November 6, 13, 20, December 4th

What it is: Learn how to sew from patterns, fabric selection, garment construction, tools of the trade, you will select a pattern and make one or two garments from start to finish tailored to your measurements then focus on detail elements and closure techniques. To complete a more complex project student will need to do their homework! This is a continuing education style class. 

Cost: $160.00 (4 weeks 2 hours per week)

 ***Student will Provide  pattern and fabric for  Project and bring their sewing machine. Patterns should be approved ahead of class for beginners. 

Kids, Tweens & Teens Sewing Workshop

We provide materials, projects and materials!  Learn to create with fabric, sewing instruction provided to assist student’s interests and individual projects

What it is: Design and sew your own projects at your pace.  Build a cosplay costume or garment to your specifications. Bring sketches, ideas, patterns, fabric and trims. We provide instruction and have patterns and fabric to make it happen.  Your preteen/ teen will learn about fashion design from concept to fabrication to finish. Portfolio preparation for college available upon request.

SEW SERGE IT

Intro to Serging with the Overlock Serger.
Basics from threading to a variety of construction techniques, seams and hems.  Culminating in your own personal project that utilizes new skills and machine.

Dates: November 3, 10, 17, 24 Mondays 6-8pm

Cost: $200.00  (4 weeks 2 hours per week)

What it is:  Unlock the magic of this amazing machine and lose the fear in a ton of fun. Each week we will learn how to play with your serger to make unique projects and inspire new ways to create with this multidimensional tool.  You must have prior sewing knowledge to level up with this class.

  ***Class Notes: Bring Your Own Working  Overlock Machine required, your manual and quick reference Threading/Stitch guide, 4/5 separate bright color spools of serger thread to correspond to your machine threading. Correct machine Needles for fabrics, screwdriver, angled tip tweezers. 

Week 1:One 1 yard of woven cotton Fabric. Additional serger feet that you have for your machine.

Week 2:  1/2 yard of Silk or compatible lightweight material, sheers, etc. 1/2 yard of knit material 

Week 3 & 4: Personal sewing project in which you will utilize the serger to make.Your project will be constructed on the serger.  4/5 thread spools of same color thread.

 SEWING RETREAT 

September 5th-7th 2025
Join STINA  for ARTeries’ Inaugural sewing retreat at Lake Keowee. One and a half hours South of Asheville, this  beautiful South Carolina Lake House will be the perfect setting for our creative container. We will be designing, sewing, laughing, sharing, snacking and  creating. It’s a chance to learn, relax and purchase fabric. We now rotate the night of the week that we offer certain classes. Sew if you want to sequentially follow the course curriculum from Sew Simple to Sew Basic can do it with ease. Sew Skilled will be on Thursdays for continuing ed students.

You will receive a discount when purchasing an 8 or 12 week series. When you purchase 2 or 3 classes at the same time you may use these coupon codes:

The fine print:
Our classes are small and your online purchase of a class guarantees your spot, we cannot issue class refunds for no shows or cancellations less then two weeks from the start date of class.

We do our best to offer one make up class per class purchase.  These dates set at the beginning of the session and must be reserved.

All Group Classes are 2 hours in length. If your class becomes a private lesson (due to attendance) your class will run for 1 1/2 hours.

2025 Unfulfilled class packages  will expire on 11/30/25

If you have  miss or cancel your original session  less than the two week cancellation  notice: you may fill in during the next session  if there is an open spot, please follow up by call or text for availability. If you miss the second rescheduled session your held spot cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
