DIY SEWING Workshop Party! :Tired of the same ol' party? TRY TrendyThreads instead of Donkey tails!
It's hip to be creative with your friends and Do-It-Yourself! Get a group of friends together and we will make it a celebration to remember. From making seasonal accessories like scarves or broaches, to collaborating on making a remembrance quilt gift for the guest of honor. Prior sewing skills are not required! We will help you manifest your DIY party idea. Call Stina and inquire about her tailoring your next Party. Yes! I love kids too. Price Upon Request.
SEW BASIC: 4 weeks of sewing instruction & inspiration !
Its a gentle approach to learning the basics from machine threading to simple contruction techniques, and how to use basic sewing equipment . We will make small projects every week that incooporate basic skills: Hems, Darts, Closures: Buttons & Zippers. Most Materials Provided. *Bring several T-shirts to class.
Wednesday evening 6-8pm or Saturday 1-3pm

Sew Skilled: You’ve got the basic sewing skills and are ready to... embark onto more complex sewing projects! How to sew from patterns, create your own patterns, fabric selection, garment construction, tools of the trade, you will make your own pattern tailered to your measurements and make a garment from start to finish, then, work on surface design elements. Provide own fabrics or purchase from the FFSS stock.
Thurs evening 5-7pm or Saturday 10am-12noon

SEW BASIC & SEW SKILLED: Bring your own ZIGZAG machine, or learn on one of ours. We will teach you about your machine and it's accessories. I will teach you on the level you are at, and most importantly the skills you want to know! You will get an introduction and time on overlock surgers!
SEWING SALON: (Formally known as Stitch n’Bitch)
You’ve got the idea and materials, maybe even the know how...if you want to have a social sewing experience, get feedback, have fun, and get help starting & finishing your projects. Join us any week!
THURSDAYS Ongoing 7-10PM SLIDING SCALE $10-$30 Just think for the same price you could have a hangover and nothing to show for it!

Private Classes
You can schedule private Sewing Tutorials for yourself, or you and a relative or friends. If you have specific techniques you want to learn, or need individualized attention. We can make a highly tailored class just for you.Mother & Daughter Workshops
An age old tradition of woman's work is reclaimed as a special connection through Mother & Daughter workshops. You can open up sew many possibilities for creating and having fun together. Even with minimal sewing experience you can walk away from a one day workshop with a worthwhile accomplished project or garment. More importantly you will will develop a new way to bond with a loved one, while making family mementos and learning to collaborate in the creative process.Give a Class Gift Certificate
If you are excited about one of our classes or workshops for yourself or a loved one...Gift certificates can be purchased in person at the studio. every one knows someone who says "if only I had the time, the place," well give them the gift of learning something they would otherwise not give themselves.
Using a Rotary cutter and Mat for the first time in Sew Basic to make circular cuts into fabric.
In "Sew Skilled" you will learn to use an Overlock Surger Machine.
Here is Stina giving a demo at Bele Chere. This was fun- sewing & answering questions - bringing stitchery from the studio to the streets of Asheville.

The studio hosts a variety of differnt machines, straight stitch, zig-zag, surger, old and new, industrial and household. If you can bring in your personal machine to learn on that is the best way you can learn the techniques. If you have any questions about which class will be suitable for you, please give a call.
